Gatic
Slotdrain - Complete Structural Integrity
Elkington Gatic is committed to ensuring that all Gatic Slotdrain
products are fit for purpose and can also be installed as an
integral part of the surrounding surface materials, completely
avoiding the use of separate components in their construction.
To support this commitment, Gatic Slotdrain has been comprehensively
load-tested and independently certified by the British Standards
Institute (BSI). A complete set of standard construction details
has also been created, encompassing the full range of Slotdrain
types & sizes incorporated into every available option of
standard surface materials. If the Slotdrain Integrated Design
Software is used to design a drainage system, appropriate CAD
or pdf drawings are automatically linked to each run forming
part of the design. Alternatively, standard construction details
are available in the Drawing
Downloads section of the website.
With the exception of the 500 & 600mm units in F900 locations,
the concrete structure around Gatic Slotdrain does not require
any additional reinforcement for the stated load ratings to
be achieved. British Standards Institute (BSI) Test Certificates
are available upon request.
The Optimum Solution to
Structural Integrity
Gatic Slotdrain can be installed using the conventional method
of laying the channels on a concrete bed and haunching around
both sides.
However, following a process of research and development involving
a number of independent consulting structural engineers, several
unique design features have been incorporated into the product
with the specific objective of further enhancing the structural
integrity of Gatic Slotdrain and its concrete surround, in particular
Gatic UltraSlot in heavy and ultra heavy duty environments.
